What Is Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment?
Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) allows you to use your Amazon FBA inventory to fulfill orders from non-Amazon sales channels — Shopify, eBay, Walmart, your own website, and more.
How MCF Works
- Store inventory at Amazon FBA warehouses (same as regular FBA)
- Receive order on external channel (Shopify, eBay, etc.)
- Create MCF order in Seller Central or via API
- Amazon picks, packs, and ships the order
- Customer receives the product (in Amazon-branded or unbranded packaging)
MCF Pricing (2026)
| Speed | Standard Size | Oversize |
|---|---|---|
| Standard (3–5 days) | $5.85+ | $9.00+ |
| Expedited (2 days) | $8.50+ | $14.00+ |
| Priority (1 day) | $12.00+ | $20.00+ |
Advantages of MCF
- Single inventory pool — No need for separate warehouse for each channel
- Amazon's logistics network — Fast, reliable delivery
- Scalability — Handle order spikes without infrastructure
- No minimum volumes — Ship 1 or 10,000 orders
Limitations
- Amazon-branded packaging (unbranded option available at extra cost)
- Higher fees than standard FBA
- No international shipping (US only)
- Limited customization options
- Can't include marketing inserts
MCF vs Third-Party 3PL
| Factor | MCF | 3PL |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | 1–5 days | Varies |
| Cost | Higher | Usually lower |
| Branding | Limited | Full customization |
| Inserts | Not allowed | Allowed |
| International | No | Usually yes |
| Integration | Amazon API | Varies |
Best Strategy
Use MCF for:
- Backup fulfillment when your 3PL is overwhelmed
- Testing new sales channels before investing in separate fulfillment
- Products where Amazon's speed advantage justifies the cost
Use a dedicated 3PL or warehousing service for:
- High-volume non-Amazon channels
- Products requiring custom branding
- International shipping needs
